Roydisa in Galicia joins the Kassow Robots partner network
Roydisa offers Kassow Robots its first-ever presence in Galicia. The company, which is based in Santiago de Compostela and now a sales partner of Kassow Robots, was founded in 1976 and now has more than 50 employees at five locations: Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Vigo, Lugo, and Ourense. “Roydisa has been a partner of Bosch Rexroth for a number of years now, and we are happy that they are now working with Kassow Robots as well. Galicia is a vibrant industrial region withtremendous potential for automation,” says Dieter Pletscher, Global SalesManager at Kassow Robots.
Strong demand for use with lightweightrobots
The team that will be looking after the Kassow Robots cobots is based at Roydisa’s location in Vigo – a region that is notable for the strong presence of automotive manufacturers and suppliers. “We believe that there is strong demand here, including for use with lightweight robots. That is why we decided to enter intoa partnership with Kassow Robots,” says Ángel Estévez, application and service engineer. According to Ángel Estévez, other industries where there could be strong demand are the food industry – and packaging solutions in particular – and the furniture industry. As to the specific applications, he believes that in addition to packaging, there is room for strong growth in the areas of polishing and welding.
Kassow Robots' cobots were developed for industrial use
Kassow Robots is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. The German firm Bosch Rexroth has been the majority owner since April 2022. The company’s founder and CEO, Kristian Kassow, is a cobot pioneer who established the company in an effort to supply the markets withcobots that are optimized for industrial use. Unlike most other cobots in the market, all Kassow Robots do not have six, but 7 axes. This seventh axis makes it possible to easily implement automation solutions in even the tiniest of spaces thanks to the robot arm’s ability to “reach around the corner.”
