Four lightweight robots from Kassow Robots are helping BIOCARE GmbH, a medium-sized German manufacturer of organic agricultural pesticides, increase the efficiency of its production processes. The Kassow Robots partner IBK IngenieurConsult from Hannover,Germany, has automated the processes of the packaging system for the production of Trichosafe: small pellets punched out of cardboard that contain ichneumonfly larvae and are used as an organic means of crop protection. The end productis spread on the fields by farmers by drone or launcher. 🤖 Case Study (interview with the end customer)
“We’re proud that our cobots are helping this successful SME grow,” says Christian Lorenscheit,Sales Manager at Kassow Robots. “BIOCARE is using cobots for the first time, and with our model KR1205, they’re achieving four times the volume as well as higher quality, with half the workforce for these tasks.”
Seventh axis is used tofull advantage.
Sebastian Beitzen-Heineke, who heads the SME in its second generation jointly with his sister, emphasizes the advantages of the seventh axis: “The 7th axis allows a very compact solution, and these cobots are also very user-friendly – they’re very easy to operate. We make full use of the KR cobots’ agility. They can very easily reach down into the deep wagons to take out or deposit the cardboardpieces.”
BIOCARE was a newcomer to the use of cobots. The overall concept, the implementation, and the consulting with Biocare were handled by IBK IngenieurConsult GmbH from Hannover. “IBK advises SMEs at eye level and facilitates their entry into the world of robotics,” Christian Lorenscheit says. “And the end customers have told our systemintegrators again and again how user-friendly our cobots are.”
