Certificate of product testing to ATEX Directive
Industrial or collaborative robots tested according to ATEX directive for the use in explosive atmosphere. Cobot applications, where ATEX explosion protection is required as for example: painting, coating, grinding with light metal or wood, palletizing with flour, dipping in explosive medium etc. Industries: Painting/Coating, Pharmacy, Food, Flour/Alcohol etc. For the certification of the robot, the entire system, consisting of robot, controller and teach pendant, will be tested. There are 13 potential types of ignition sources that can be active for each axis, in the areas of bearings, gears, motors, brakes, encoders, connectors and printed circuit boards. This results in a total of around 300 possible ignition sources, which must be identified, analyzed and eliminated.
