Introducing Ole Wahmkow

by
Reglindis Pfeiffer

It was a quick decision. When Ole Wahmkow was asked in the summer of 2022 if he could see himself setting up the production and supply chain for Kassow Robots, the Berlin native didn't have to think long about it: “Great products, the exciting city of Copenhagen, and a global team with a founder who’s still on board as CEO! We were soon sold on the package.” We being Ole Wahmkow and his family. After all, it wouldn’t just be him moving, but also his wife and their two small daughters.

Last October, Ole then started his new job in Denmark: expanding production of the five 7-axis cobot models at the new Kassow Robots company location in Copenhagen. “I’m inspired by these robots. They’re very flexible and powerful on the one hand, but also extremely elegant in how they move. And at Kassow Robots I’m part of a very international and friendly team!”

High production standards “in his blood”

He really enjoys the job: “Everyone is so motivated. And I love the short distances here at the site. It’s a huge learning curve, and the job is very exciting and varied.” After all, it’s now transforming Kassow Robots into a process-oriented company. He can benefit from his production experience in Germany and Turkiye and the stringent quality standards there. From mid-2018 – after completing the Bosch Junior Managers Program – he worked for three years at Bosch Rexroth in Bursa, where he set up a production line for axial piston pumps in the Mobile Hydraulics division.

Expanding production

Back to Ole Wahmkow’s current task as Head of Operations at Kassow Robots. Expanding production has top priority. This will involve optimizing the internal processes to significantly increase output and optimize delivery times in 2023. And how high exactly is the output target? Ole isn’t allowed to say, that’s company information. It is, however, important for him to emphasize that he’s expanding his team in Copenhagen: “I’m looking for more colleagues both for planning tasks and in production itself, and look forward to receiving applications!” His team won’t run out of tasks. After all, the production planning for the KR EDGE Series is on the agenda, in other words, for the Kassow Robots cobots with the controller integrated in the base.

Plenty of enthusiasm from the snowboarder in Copenhagen

And how was the start outside of work? What’s Ole’s verdict on that score after just over six months? In the meantime, Ole and his family have also settled in emotionally in Copenhagen. “It’s a great city and a country that’s very progressive, for example, as far as digitalization is concerned. I like that a lot as a technophile!” And his wife and daughters also feel at home. The girls attend a Danish kindergarten. They’re all already looking forward to the Danish summer, and Ole especially to kitesurfing. But now and then, they still head further south: In the skiing season, trips to the Austrian Alps are a must for the keen snowboarder.
